Much more ambitious attempt at desserts than my incomplete Grafitti Ice Cream series. The Golden Opulence, world's most expensive sundae at $1000 with edible 23k gold leafs.

Wow. Awesome work Vee! I was already wondering when you would upload it to dA here XD Really a beautiful composition with the earthly and shining colors. Though I wouldn't advice eating leaves of 23k gold XD

You + grafitti = win
Thank you!
Although I can't credit for the composition or anything. It's not really a creative achievement by any means. More painting practice, really =P

It's beautiful! Love the colours and shading. The details are very nicely done. But the napkin looks a little rigid. :P

Forget it. The napkin looks rigid enough in the actual reference photo. -_-

But you managed to capture this insane icecream very well. You caught the right colors and that shine which makes it look really expensive! And even on grafitti! No Photoshop tricks!! That is, I think, the difficulty of doing this still life.

I think I got infected with the oekaki thing as well 8D
Facebook grafitti ey?
Lol, no silly!
This was done in Photoshop, actually. BUT, but to me credit, I only used 4 or 5 layers and limited myself to the round brush and opacity tools. So it's Facebook Grafitti without the lag and bigger dimension and a few more layers =P

To this day, I still don't know what oekaki really means. I'm just going to coin this as LIMITED MS PAINT.

Thank you!

I take it that it's one of those hard napkins that you place on your lap.

you deceiver! I thought, since you mentioned grafitti.. you had done it in grafitti as well!
Oh well. I'll go bang my head through a wall now then. I already found it remarkable that you had such a big canvas to work on in grafitti and wanted to join right away. (Layers = teh cheat =P)

Untill yesterday I didn't exactly know what it was either so I googled it:

Oekaki (お絵描き ) is the Japanese term to describe the act of drawing, meaning "doodle or scribble". On the Internet, an Oekaki is a message board system that revolves around computer art created with an art program stored on the server. Oekaki artists often post their art to other websites, such as personal pages or free gallery websites, in addition to the original board.

The Oekaki interface is a Java applet. It is simple to use, yet offers enough features to create professional-looking images. The resulting picture is usually in dimensions of a few hundred pixels wide/long. The most popular applets are OekakiBBS, PaintBBS, and Shipainter.

I can't very well take over the world if I don't deceive my subjects! But fear not, I will make you my Consultant of Everything Random.

I meant that it's on a much larger scale _than_ my Grafitti pieces. If I were to say that it's more ambitious _than my other_ Grafitti pieces then it would be a different story. BUT I FAIL AT COMMUNICATION. WE NEED TO GET BACK TO SCHOOL. ;_;

I've seen people do that. They did what you did with your "Sisterly Rivalry". They painted a part of the image on one Grafitti canvas (say the feet). Submit it. Then continue to paint and submit until they're done (e.g. the body and then the head separately).
(Shhh, nobody needs to know.)

Why do they have to make things to complicated? "Sketching" isn't good enough anymore?
In any case, Grafitti and what you used are both flash applets. We win because we have the lag component to work around.
