Not quite a speed painting but not quite a masterpiece, either. I don't have the patience for one. I just wanted to paint.

Took many creative liberties when the reference was so small. It started out as a photo-realistic painting. When I wanted to stretch towards the finish line, I worked in the illustrative touch.

Wow, I looked at your reference and the photo was quite horrific. You somehow made it seem more serene with the beach. I love the details you made with the buildings. I can feel the edges with my eyes!
